If you want to fool your friends into thinking you already have the Windows XP operating system without spending the money for the beta test version, this would be a great place to start. The desktop icons and color settings are just what the doctor ordered. In addition, the package contains an 800x600 wallpaper image in both bitmap and JPG format, along with a cool looking animated cursor, several basic
static cursors, new Windows XP system logos for English and Spanish operating systems, and previously released Microsoft sound files.
'Software\Classes\' should be removed from the theme code to avoid desktop icon issues for standard Microsoft Plus! users. (See the Emergency page for more information.) Most of the cursors are the standard 3D type, and the sounds are from previous Microsoft theme packs. In addition, there are no
web view images, and no screen saver included. A 'My Documents' icon is included but not associated in the theme code. The wallpaper is also set to be tiled instead of stretched so it doesn't look good on larger or smaller desktops.
The only major problems are the code errors. Other than that, the Microsoft related theme parts should really be expected, especially considering this is based on the upcoming Microsoft OS. As it is, it wouldn't take much to tweak this theme package into something really special.
